Apparently when I posted it deleted the bottom half of my post so this probably made no sense originally.
I've moved away from the working title of Star Trek II, the last part of the movie: The Game into Meltdown! While sounding hilarious when my friend first suggested I don't think Star Trek would like me using that title. This is my game concept that I will hopefully enter into The Game Crafter's contest. The hard part is going to be having decent art and make sure it's tested enough.
The game's theme will be 3 players working together to prevent a meltdown. The players must race against the clock to stop the disaster. The time mechanic will be stacking cubes. Every action takes time and as time goes on the reactor is hitting up. If a stack falls, that reactor fails and the players are closer to defeat. The other mechanic with the cubes is that you can't use your hands to stack them. They're radioactive! You have to use tweezers to grab the cubes. However, because Game Crafter doesn't have tweezers it's just two wooden sticks that work just the same.
I might add some rules so that the game doesn't end when one of the towers falls. I might allow a player to move into another player's chamber and change the game slightly and allow for a chance to still win. There will be penalties but just so the game doesn't end if one person makes a mistake.
In order to win the game, players will need to lay down a set of 5 cards in the right order. Each player starts the game with 5 cards and will trade between each other and draw other cards to get the correct set. Each player will have a board that only he plays on. There are 5 actions a player can take. They are: trade a card with player A, trade a card with player B, draw a card, play a card, and a special action. Each player will have a unique action that he can do. These are: swap hands, move a player, move a cube.
