I just ordered 10 prototypes from The Game Crafter. I'm super excited to try them out. I have 10 copies of 4 different games on the way. One is my Gem Mining game that was recently rejected by a publisher. I'm not too surprised about that though. It has a lot of similarities to other dice rolling games and lots of people made games similar to Zombie Dice after its release. I might try running a small Kickstarter just to try and get a few more copies around. Another one I ordered was Disproven. It's a deduction game where you're trying to figure out which cards are not in the group by trading with other players. It's a simple game that is similar to other deduction card games.
The other two games I haven't said much about. One is a collaboration with another designer that both of us are still working on play testing. This is the first print of it so it will be nice to have cards instead of sleeved paper. The other is a co-op real time game that will hopefully be lots of fun. I just got cards printed instead of doing a print and play version first, so hopefully it's good. I'm super excited about it.
I came up with a game idea for The Game Crafter's contest. I'm not sure I'll be able to have it all set by the entry deadline but I'll shoot for it. It is a co-op game that will involve preventing a nuclear reactor from overheating. It will have a dexterity element on top of a work together strategy kind of like Hannabi but without the backwards cards mechanic. It's a rough idea right now that I think I can put together fast enough for the contest. It should be pretty unique as well. It will be my first entry into a Game Crafter contest so my hopes aren't too high on winning.
Let me know if you want to try any of the games and I'll try to get a copy to you.
